This quilt was made in memory of my grandmother, who was a great artistic influence. Inspiration was from a photograph and greeting card. She is seen here as a young girl in an Indiana field.

Hand and soft edge appliqué. Some paint shading on the dress. Grass is ripped pieces of fabric free formed to the background.

Both hand and soft edge appliqué was used in this piece. This was from a photo of two little girls playing in the sand at the waters edge. The braid is loose and was braided with threads.

This quilt was inspired by a picture on a Miles Kimble catalog. Hand appliqué and quilting. Some reverse appliqué.

50th Wedding Anniversary

I took an old picture scanned it into the computer and then printed on fabric. The flowers around the picture are in soft edge appliqué. This is an idea of something that could be done for an anniversary or anything else, especially using some vintage pictures.
